|So last night I watched the State of the Union address delivered by our President. As has often been the case over the past several years, one side would stand and applaud often while the other side would sit like stones. Such is the state of our union, marked by a deep partisan divide.
However, I am not discouraged, for the state of my joy is not dependent upon the people who occupy our Congress and White House. My joy is rooted in the One who sits on the throne of Heaven and Earth, the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Kings.
So I reflected on the State of the Union in the Kingdom of God. As far as security goes, my King says “… that no weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). In regards to the Kingdom economy, Jesus tells us to “Seek first that Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33), and “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). In regards to the future, God’s Word states, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." For our call to action, Jesus tells us to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength; and to love your neighbor as yourself."
I would conclude that the State of the Kingdom is good and remind you that the King loves you.
