Lifeline 2016-04-27

After days of rain, and very tall grass in the lawn, I thought I'd surprise my husband by mowing the front yard. I had good intentions, but things went south when the mower stopped working. Considering I had to watch a YouTube video to learn how to start the mower in the first place, I couldn't exactly rely on my troubleshooting skills. It turns out there was gunk in the carburetor. Ken cleaned it out, and now the mower works as good as new.

When I feel like I'm spiritually sluggish, I think back on that time I tried to mow the lawn. Even though I had the best intentions, researched the problem, and tried really hard... I couldn't get very far with a clogged carburetor. The same is true in my relationship with God, except I can't call on my husband - or anyone else - to unclog my "carburetor" for me. Thankfully, the answer is one prayer away. Create in me a new heart, O God, and renew a right Spirit within me.

Full of Good Intentions,
Kristan
